Landmark Lawsuit

China has always controlled the news their citizens receive. A local reporter took a landmark step in suing the Chinese government. The government suspended Cui Fan's publication after she published an article on bank forgery.

"I brought the lawsuit because what happened is unfair both to me and my colleagues," Cui told the Associated Press news agency. The Guardian was unable to reach her by telephone.

I think this is amazing because this gives hope for freedom of speech in China.

It does show signs of change in china. It seems like everybody is suing the media now-a-days for misrepresentation.

I first want to say how proud I am, to be an American. Secondly, no offense to China but, I think it is a selfish act of the Chinese government to limits the amount of information that their citizens receive. Hopefully, this step of concern from the local reporter will bring more freedom to China.

A country should never be able to control the news that the citizens receive. It's good to see somebody take a stand against that government.

I think that the public has a right to know what is going on in their country. Reading this makes me very happy and lucky to live in the country that I live in where it seems as though it is our right to know about what is going on with our country.
