Anyone who has listened to a speech by Sarah Palin throughout this campaign, has heard her call the media the "liberal elite". But has the media actually gone out of their way to her more negative coverage?
According to Tim Graham, a media analyst:
"They're familiar with Joe Biden. He's run for president several times. They all know him. He's been in Washington for a long time, and they agree with his point of view on the issues. That makes him non-controversial. That makes him really old news to a certain extent," he contends. "[But] Sarah Palin's a brand new story. Even people who support her are not that familiar with her, and she represents to the news media a dangerously ultra-conservative [and] inexperienced person."
The only noted story that has been positive has been on her eye wear.
In my opinion, I believe the media has published more stories on Palin than Biden. But there have been more negative things surrounding Palin. Biden has the occasional slip up. But Palin has had some really bad interviews and has been involved in hearings in Alaska over firing her brother-in-law.
So while she have in fact recieved more negative press, it is in my opinion because there has been more news involving Palin.

Palin is defiantely in the spot light more than Biden. I think because she is a women from a small town people feel that she may not be ready to lead a country. However, the media brings up all of the candidates dirt because it's all apart of the game.
I do not think that the media has gone out of its way to publicize negative material on Sarah Palin. I feel that if you can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen. If anything, I think that the media is just making note of certain incidents or events that will make a good story and draw readers’ attention.
I agree that Palin is in the press more because she is new, unlike Biden who has been around for awhile. However, isn't she correct when she calls the media the "liberal elite." Even your quote by Tim Graham calls Palin an "ultra-conservative." Perhaps it has nothing to do with more news about Palin, but it is strictly because the media is afraid of someone who is not as liberal as they are.
Sarah Palin has revolutionized the Republican campaign. The media would then want to crawl all over her, publishing each slip-up and each attack she makes on the Obama campaign. I see more about Palin in the news than McCain these days.
I think part of the reason the media is fascinated with Palin is the fact that she is a woman. Hilary Clinton would have been the first major presidential contendor; however, Barack Obama beat her.
McCain filled the void of a woman on the major party tickets when he picked Palin.
With Palin being the FIRST woman to find herself as a major VP, the media has been fascinated with this strong, attractive, small-town, Alaskan native.
She can hold her own. She has, and she can even have fun (see her Saturday Night Live appearance).
Personally, I think SNL just made her look worse. And Mccain may be standing stronger in the polls if he had picked a better running mate. Is Sarah Palin really the best woman the Republican party has?
I do feel like Palin gets a lot of attention, whether it is negative or not. Isn't there a saying...any press is good press(something like that). Even if her attention is negative sometimes(or most of the time), her name is still all around and people are still talking about her.
