With the Republication National Convention just begginning, the media is devoting large amounts to cover it. Apparently, this is not enough for the Republicans...
The delegates from their seats yelled, "Tell the truth! Tell the truth!" This is due to many questions being raised about Sarah Palin, and her daughter, Bristol. This was directed to the sky boxes, which houses television networks and the rest of the "liberal mainstream media".
This begs the question. Is the mainstream media liberal? Is the news slanted? Well, It is very difficult to be completely unbiased in hardly any situation. But, I do not believe that the news is extremely slanted one way or another.
It is the responsiblity of the reader to not trust just one news source. Personally, I will watch CNN, read the New York Times online, and the Florida Times Union online. Its not to say that a news source is not trustworthy. Rather, it is always a good idea to get a couple of different sides.
I hope that this does not cause media sources to focus more on being "kind" to the Republicans, than reporting the news.

I definitely agree with you that it is a good idea to check with different sources for news. The media does tend to be biased. I also like to check with different sources because I like to hear what the opposite side is saying. Sometimes I find myself agreeing with them on certain issues.
I agree with you to get more than just one source of news. I watch the news because it is a convience for me, and I also read newspapers because I love to read and Ilearn new words That I may not have seen before.
The media has to be biased, even if only just slightly. I think it is too hard to do something that you are passionate about without leaving a little bit of your personality in it.
I agree it's our responsibility to be objective when it comes to the media and throughout our whole lives. It lets us form our own opinions on topics.
Kristen you have a good point, there are plenty other sources that one can follow when watching the news. The media is doing there job. I believe that they are covering what they are told to cover. Gustav is far more important than this campaign. Politics will still be here and are pretty predictable, however this storm will do what it please the media must be very attentive.
In my experience news is slanted but in both ways. Fox news is blatantly conservative with shows like "the O'Reilly Factor" and HBO is definitely liberal with "Real Time with Bill Maher." It is also interesting that many celebrities are for Obama even though their taxes would go up more likely with a Democratic president.
The t.v. news helps me educate myself, but also online sources as well. The media will always seem biast, and will always have another opinion ultimately.
